Nexus International School
Director of Curriculum Enhancement
Malaysia
I am a teacher in my 6th year at Nexus. As an educator I am a passionate supporter of authentic opportunities for student-led learning. I believe strongly that learners thrive when they are given the chance to engage with real-world problems, to investigate and to take action on issues that are important to them. One of my responsibilities in my role as Director of Curriculum Enhancement has been to develop these opportunities through our Global Goals project, and to pursue other opportunities for authentic education around sustainability. Through this work, I've been able to collaborate with people from various backgrounds and subject areas, both within and outside of the education sector. I believe that cross-curricular and inter-school collaboration can immensely enhance our ability as teachers to support and guide learners through these real-world challenges and I am very much looking forward to meeting and working with the variety of people in our AIMS network to see where our ideas take us.
